Polyphony Digital has launched a new online time trial event in Gran Turismo 7, giving players a fresh opportunity to test their pace against the global community. The challenge went live today and is accessible through the game’s Sport Mode, continuing the regular rotation of competitive events designed to keep players engaged beyond the main career content.

This latest time trial features the BMW M3 ’07 at the Autopolis International Racing Course. The circuit, located in Japan, is known for its technical layout, sweeping corners and elevation changes, demanding consistency and precision from drivers aiming for the fastest possible lap. Competitors must use Sports Hard tyres for the event, adding an extra layer of challenge as they attempt to extract maximum performance from the car.

Unlike traditional online races, the time trial format sees players competing solo against the clock rather than wheel-to-wheel against other drivers. Participants can post as many laps as they wish during the event window, refining their technique in pursuit of incremental gains. Rewards are distributed based on how close a player’s best lap time is to the global fastest time once the event concludes, with gold, silver and bronze credit payouts determined by percentage thresholds.

The event is scheduled to run until 5 March, giving players just over two weeks to improve their standings. As with other Online Time Trials in Gran Turismo 7, a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required, making the challenge accessible to all players who have unlocked Sport Mode within the game.

The BMW M3 ’07 time trial at Autopolis is the latest in a series of rotating events that regularly spotlight different combinations of cars and circuits. With each new challenge, Polyphony Digital continues to expand the competitive landscape of Gran Turismo 7, offering players an ongoing reason to return to the track.
