Alabaster Dawn entered Early Access on PC on 7 May 2026, developed and published by Radical Fish Games. Following the success of CrossCode, the studio returns with another action RPG built around fast-paced combat, layered progression systems, environmental puzzles, and expansive exploration. While it shares certain design philosophies with the developer’s previous work, Alabaster Dawn pushes its scale much further, presenting a large fantasy adventure set in the ruined world of Tiran Sol. Combining intense action mechanics with town rebuilding systems and deep customization, the game aims to deliver a lengthy RPG experience filled with discovery and experimentation.

The story begins after the mysterious force known as Nyx casts the world into ruin, causing both the gods and their civilizations to vanish. Players take control of Juno, the “Outcast Chosen,” who awakens in the aftermath of the catastrophe and is tasked with restoring humanity and confronting the darkness consuming the land. Alone at first, Juno gradually gathers survivors, rebuilds settlements, and uncovers the truth behind Nyx and the disappearance of the gods. The narrative blends large-scale fantasy themes with more personal questions surrounding identity, destiny, and the responsibility placed upon a chosen figure in a shattered world.

Exploration plays a major role throughout the adventure, with Tiran Sol featuring multiple large regions packed with hidden paths, puzzles, treasures, and environmental secrets. Radical Fish Games places strong emphasis on rewarding curiosity, encouraging players to search every corner of the world for upgrade materials, recipes, equipment enhancements, and lore. Traversal mechanics include parkour-inspired movement and puzzle-solving sequences that make use of weapons, abilities, and party interactions. The game’s world map also includes reminder markers and fast travel options, giving players the flexibility to approach exploration at their own pace without feeling overly constrained.

One of the game’s defining features is its settlement rebuilding system. As Juno rescues survivors and helps communities recover, towns gradually expand and evolve visually over time. New advancements unlock trade routes, scientific progress, fresh opportunities, and previously inaccessible locations, creating a strong sense of growth across the world. Rather than treating settlements as static hubs, Alabaster Dawn integrates them directly into progression and exploration, reinforcing the feeling that the player’s actions are actively restoring Tiran Sol piece by piece.

Combat is designed to be fast, technical, and highly customizable, drawing inspiration from games such as Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts, and CrossCode. Players can command four elemental types alongside a large arsenal of weapons, with two weapons assignable to each element at any given time. This system encourages constant adaptation during battles, allowing players to switch builds and strategies dynamically even in the middle of combat encounters. Enemies often require different approaches depending on their behaviour and weaknesses, rewarding players who learn how to combine movement, timing, and elemental abilities effectively.

Character progression extends deeply into weapon mastery and skill customization. Every weapon comes with its own dedicated skill tree containing unlockable Combat Arts, allowing players to tailor attacks and abilities toward different playstyles. Divine Arts add another layer by granting powerful elemental spells capable of dealing heavy damage or controlling crowds of enemies. Equipment can also be enhanced through gems and enchantments, with some upgrades providing straightforward statistical boosts while others significantly alter combat behaviour. This extensive progression system gives players considerable freedom when building Juno to suit their preferred approach.

Outside of combat, Alabaster Dawn includes additional RPG systems tied to cooking, crafting, and resource gathering. Ingredients discovered during exploration can be used to prepare meals that increase healing capacity and provide temporary bonuses. Repeatedly experimenting with different dishes raises the player’s Palate Level, improving future food effects and creating another avenue for progression. Artificers meanwhile allow players to craft and upgrade gems, opening access to more specialised enchantments and customization options. These interconnected systems help reinforce the game’s broader emphasis on experimentation and long-term character development.

Visually, Alabaster Dawn combines vibrant fantasy environments with detailed pixel-art-inspired presentation and fluid animation. The world balances colourful landscapes with the darker atmosphere created by Nyx’s corruption, giving Tiran Sol a sense of both beauty and decay. Combined with its large-scale exploration, reactive settlements, deep combat systems, and layered RPG mechanics, the game presents a substantial adventure for players who enjoy action-focused role-playing experiences. For fans of exploration-heavy RPGs with meaningful progression and mechanically demanding combat, Alabaster Dawn offers an ambitious journey through a world struggling to rise again from ruin.
